Title 8 Productions, LLC represents the film and media works of filmmaker/editor Tim Tsai.

Tim’s feature debut Seadrift chronicles the racial hostilities that erupted during the early days of Vietnamese refugee arrival on the Texas gulf coast. The award-winning film premiered at Slamdance 2019 and was broadcast on PBS. He has produced and directed several short form documentaries, including the Austin PBS series Austin Revealed: Pioneers from the East, and Mi Casa es tu Casa: Manuel and Olga’s Garden.

His editorial work include Yakona (SXSW ’14 Audience Award), a hybrid “pure cinema” film about the San Marcos river, and Powerlands (2022 Rigoberta MenchĂș Prize, Montreal First Peoples’ Festival), a film about global indigenous resistance against resource extraction. He holds an MFA in film and video production from the University of Texas at Austin, is the former executive director of the Austin Asian American Film Festival, and is a Firelight Media Documentary Labs alum.

He is based in the Central Valley in California.
